Keep your CPU in mind if you use NBAR.

I had an increase of CPU from 10% to 30% applying NBAR on 6500 (native)
where I had 40Mbps of outgoing traffic and 20Mbps of incoming traffic.

Netflow or NBAR is probably your best bet.
