Sure, but then you'd need to live with all the nice non-features of
Cisco L3 switching gear, like "no working counters, no way to see
ACL matches, no way to figure out what sort of traffic your end
stations are blowing through your net (except SPAN), etc."
Small L3 switches have their place - customer connections isn't it.
