I used this and it's cousin "oam-range manage" at my previous job so I 
could get PVC up/down messages from the routers into my event management 
system.  I also needed it for some FRF.8 (frame relay on the 
customer end, ATM PVC on my end) circuits so I could get the same sort of 
information.

<gripe>Not every carrier/vendor seem(s|ed) to implement 
FRF.8 correctly, so correlating loss of LMI or similar event at the 
customer prem site to an ATM PVC going down required a little black 
magic...</gripe>
