Having been bitten by a config error of using the wrong bit mask on an ACL I
was wondering if anyone on the list has a rule/guide of when to use which
type of bit mask in a cisco IOS/CatOS config.

ie

192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0

or

192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255

eg interface ip addresses and routing uses the first, where as ACLs use the
latter.
