Never worked with that ware but I would set syslog and monitor it too see if
any msg's are generated durning the discovery.

Subject: [c-nsp] OT: HPOV's Autodiscovery doesn't work through the
PIX Firewall
Hi:
My customer has an HP Openview (HPOV) management
station sitting behind a PIX firewall (on the inside
interface). He launched the HPOV autodiscovery process
to discover the network topology and everything worked
fine except that the discovery died at the PIX.
Because of that, he couldn't discover the WAN network
on the outside interface of the PIX. However, if he
defined the WAN devices manually on the HPOV they
worked (SNMP-wise). I am not familiar with HPOV's
autodiscovery process so I wonder if anyone in this
forum has run into a similar issue before and what was
the tweaks on the PIX to allow HPOV autodiscovery to
work through it.
Thanks very much.
William
