It's very real. And it's not really 256K either - "mls cef maximum-routes"
won't let you set number of IP routes higher than 239K. From one of our
Sup3B boxes:

xxxxx#show mls cef maximum-routes
FIB TCAM maximum routes :
=======================
Current :-
-------
 IPv4                - 239k
 MPLS                - 1k
 IPv6 + IP Multicast - 8k (default)

It's even documented:

So you'd better upgrade to 3BXL before you hit that 239K ceiling.
