NPE300 isn't anymore officially supported in late images, such 
as late 12.4 or 12.2(28)SB. If at all feasible (eg. gigeports,
extra speed also deemed useful) I'd suggest technology
upgrade to NPE-G2 or NPE-G1 is you want to avoid the
early adopter pains of NPE-G2 and weird images.

Having said that, I'm running 12.2(28)SB on all my NPE400,
NPE-G1 and 12.2(28)SB1 on all NSE100 and so far I'm
extremely satisfied with it.
