Do you have access to the DLSAM? Are you seeing the Ethernet
broadcast packets coming in from the customers DSL line? The PPPoE
client on the customer DSL should be broadcasting, looking for the
PPPoE server. That packet should be forwarded to the 7206 by the
DSLAM. The 7206 will respond directly to the customer using the
customers MAC address. The PPP negotiation can start at that
point. Check your MAC address tables, do you see the MAC address
of the customers in the 7206? I wonder if the problem is the DSLAM
and rebooting the 7206 drops the ATM circuit long enough for the
DSLAM to clear out its MAC address tables and get things working again.
Is it always the same group of customers that have the problem?
