Not a luxury I can afford on a whim unfortunately. It's a production
router. I'm fairly confident the slot is OK since I recently used a
VIP2-50 in it. I also don't think it's the card since this is the
second GEIP+ ive used with the same problem.

Definately worth a try. I'll have to schedule some downtime for the
router.
