[c-nsp] 7600: etherchannel on OSM/GE ?

Hi!

Configuration guide says us that:
EtherChannel Feature Configuration Guidelines and Restrictions
[...]
The commands in this chapter can be used on all LAN ports in Catalyst 
6500 series switches

and, from real-life experience, router refuses channel-group 
configuration on OSM-4GE-WAN port: 

Router(config-if)#channel-group 1 mode on 
GE-WAN3/3 is not added to port channel 1
Router(config-if)#channel-group 1 mode active 
Mode not supported for GE-WAN3/3 on group 1

Should i read documentation statement as "EtherChannel feature can be 
configured ONLY on LAN ports, not on WAN ones" ? :) 
Or i have to configure something special for this feature to work ? 

PS: router in question is 7606/sup720/pfc3bxl, 12.2(18)SXF2, ipservices_wan 
feature set.
