Hello,

I would like to know if It's possible to add the same vlan id on two
different interfaces, I am using a Catalyst 6500 switch (Version
12.2(18)SXD6). The question is because if I try to add encapsulation dot1q
2 on a sub-interface that belong to another interface, I get the following
error:

interface GigabitEthernet7/1
 description 3550-S1
 mtu 9216
 no ip address
 no ip proxy-arp

interface GigabitEthernet7/1.1
 encapsulation dot1Q 2
 ip vrf forwarding VRF00001
 ip address 10.201.15.254 255.255.255.252

interface GigabitEthernet7/2
 description 3550-S2
 mtu 9216
 no ip address
 no ip proxy-arp

TELEPUERTO#config term
TELEPUERTO(config)#interface gigabitEthernet 7/2.1
TELEPUERTO(config-subif)# ip vrf forwarding VRF00001
TELEPUERTO(config-subif)#encapsulation dot1Q 2

Command rejected: VLAN 2 not available

TELEPUERTO(config-subif)#

Thanks
