When they work they work, but XENPAK isn't the right platform for doing 
WAN PHY efficiently. If you do a lot of them, you probably want to go with 
something XFP based that has native support for it (XFPs themselves are 
agnostic to lan/wan framing, unlike xenpak). Figure that if you do 4 WAN 
PHY XENPAKs on a 4-port card the price difference between LR's and LW's is 
gonna be over $30k list, vs if you do 4 WAN PHY XFPs the XFPs stay the 
same price (generally lower than XENPAK) and the price diff on the host 
card to support both is generally gonna be between $0-$1000.
