Hi
I have two Catalyst 6500/Sup32 running OSPF+EIGRP+Full BGP. First one
is running 12.2(18)SXF4 and second one is running SXF5. On SXF5 we
have much bigger CPU usage and when we're using CLI (via telnet) it's
feels much slower (delays) comparing to 6500/SXF4. Both 6500 have
512MB RAM.
MRTG of CPU usage shows much more CPU usage on SXF5:
SXF5 Max Average Current
(%) CPU 80.0 CPU Usage (%) 37.0 CPU Usage (%) 41.0 CPU Usage (%)
(%) CPU 80.0 CPU Usage (%) 37.0 CPU Usage (%) 41.0 CPU Usage (%)
SXF4 Max Average Current
(%) CPU 60.0 CPU Usage (%) 13.0 CPU Usage (%) 7.0 CPU Usage (%)
(%) CPU 60.0 CPU Usage (%) 13.0 CPU Usage (%) 7.0 CPU Usage (%)
'show proce cpu sorted' show this too, please see 'one minute' and
'five minutes' CPU usage:

My questions:
1) Is it normal for SXF5 ?
2) What about upgrade to SXF6, release-notes not metion about higher
CPU usage ? Maybe we should look at 12.2 SRA release ?
3) 6500/SXF5 puts into syslog messages like: Oct 2 18:12:50.979:
%AAAA-3-NOREG: authentication method 12 has no registry! -Traceback= .
Is it normal ? (we're using local and tacacs as AAA).
Thanks,
Robert
