[c-nsp] Article: Beware of counterfeit Cisco gear

Yes, I recently was having a bunch of gear quoted out one of which was a
pair of 7206's npeg1 and g2. The gig upgrade on the g1 was huge money,
over 6000 actually over 7000 I'll pull the quote and confirm the exact
dollar amount. It was less expensive to go npe2g with the built in
memory than buy a series 1 and upgrade. This was approximately 1.5 to 2
months ago something on that order. I'd provide you more off list if
you like, I'd rather not call out the vendor on the list as it's not
their pricing that's the issue but Cisco's.

I've got no problem with 3rd party parts as long as they're compatible,
someone stands behind them, and they don't lie. I don't want a "China
special" WIC if I think I'm buying a cisco WIC.

As for the memory, can you cite the example you keep mentioning? My
experience has been that cisco is usually around 10x market price on
memory...which is why we typically get memory from Crucial.
