We use lots of non-Cisco SFPs - 1000baseTX, SX and LX/LH. We always
specify that the SFPs must be Cisco "coded", and our vendors have no
problems delivering this. One of the brands we use is Prolabs.

We haven't needed 'service unsupported-transceiver' yet.
