Subject: [c-nsp] 6500 Rommon version
Hi all,
I'm going to upgrade a 6500 next week, and going through the list I've seen
a couple of great posts by Charles Spurgeon about his issues with ROMMON.
So - how do I determine the ROMMON version of a 6500 when its in production?
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/hw/routers/ps368/prod_release_no
te09186a00801fc897.html
... tells me all I need to know about upgrading it, it just doesnt tell me
how to find out what I'm running without reloading the router and going into
ROMMON.
Digging I've found:
cor3.adl2#sh module
....
Mod MAC addresses Hw Fw Sw
Status
--- ---------------------------------- ------ ------------ ------------
-------
1 0013.c38c.47cc to 0013.c38c.47e3 2.3 12.2(14r)S5 12.2(18)SXF4 Ok
5 000d.2910.3f3c to 000d.2910.3f3f 4.1 8.4(2) 12.2(18)SXF4 Ok
7 0013.c473.2590 to 0013.c473.25bf 2.3 12.2(14r)S5 12.2(18)SXF4 Ok
Suggests that the card in slot 5 (the Sup720-3BXL) has a FW revision of
8.4(2) - which makes sense, and seems to be the ROMMON version, but I'd like
to see someone confirm it.
Thanks
Brad
