Do not forget that when building a network many factors are taken into
consideration and the technical factor is just one amounts many.

I'm aware of that, buuut...

... this implies having a well-defined never-changing IP address on the
"other side" - which implies "something else that will break if you
have to renumber things" (which *will* happen).
