[c-nsp] flexlink on WS-C4948 - anyone using this? Works well?

I am doing a job for a customer where we have to hook a pair of
WS-C4948 to an Occam broadband loop carrier system. The Occam product
uses the flexlink protocol rather than spanning tree to select which
ethernet port to activate. This supposedly produces a 50ms switchover time.
I found this guide on Cisco's site regarding flexlink. Looks great,
but they reference the WS-C3550 and it isn't even available on that
platform any more. I logged into WS-C3560 and WS-C3750 I manage and they
both have it in the latest software.

My plan is to have a pair of WS-C4948 connected with an 802.1Q trunk
and a single port on each switch facing an Occam BLC that will be
running flexlink. I am not certain at this time if the Occam will be
delivering an 802.1Q trunk or just plain ethernet. Both of those
scenarios are options.
I'd like to hear from anyone who has direct hands on experience with
flexlink on any Cisco product, and in particular I'd like to hear about
support in the current image for the WS-C4948.
