MPLS today requires the Advanced IP Services feature set (or
better) and on some platforms that means you have to pay more.
On the 6500/Sup720, for example, AIS costs 10 k$ per chassis
(S733AIK9-12218SXF).

Other 'feature licenses' may surprise you. On the 7600/ES20,
running MPLS VPN costs 40 k$ *per blade*.
