[c-nsp] VPLS over Tunnels

Hi Oli,
I am looking for exactly that, if possible send specific PW over
specific paths. That is, doc discussing relation between PWs and TE in
VPLS environments.
For example, suppose customer has 4 sites (CE-a1, CE-a2, CE-a3, CE-a4)
using VPLS backbone with 4 PEs (PE1, PE2, PE3 and PE4). I am looking if
possible to influence the PW paths between CE-a1 to CE-a2, CE-a1 to
CE-a3 and so on.
As I understand it, TE could provide transparent services VPLS, as it
does for MPLS L3 VPN. That is, if the following configuration is used in
PE1:
L2 vfi PE1_to_other Pes manual
vpn id 200
neighbor 2.2.2.2 encapsulation mpls
neighbor 3.3.3.3 encapsulation mpls
!
Int loop 0
ip ad 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.255
The path used to send PW to neighbor 2.2.2.2 could be defined by the TE
implemented.
I am after potential drawbacks of using VPLS and TE at the same time
(bugs, platform restrictions, limitations...)
Tks,
Alaerte

Well, I'm not sure what you're after. There could be the concern to send
specific PW over specific paths (i.e. using Tunnel selection within a
VFI), this is available in some recent releases (think 12.2SRA,
configured just like AToM tunnel selection). Other than this, I can't
really think of anything.. do you have something in mind?
