Sure. You can verify its operation by disconnecting just one fibre
- both interfaces will go down immediately. This also works on 
1GE connections, but requires autonegotiation to be enabled.

Please note however, that RemoteFault state is not currently reported
by CLI to the user - interface just shows "down/down (notconnect)".
It would be much more convenient to see e.g. "down/down (remotefault)"
in order to be able to clearly distinguish RF from other problems.
