So it seems I was confused by the wording.
It actually means - Members of an external peer group have different
autonomous system (AS) numbers FROM your ASN.
I took it to mean that all members in the peer group required different
ASNs from each other.
Thanks for the help (I couldn't see any reason for the restriction as I
originally interpreted it).
