- different ID-Prom

- some of the chassis are mechanically different regarding power supplies
  (IIRC the 6506 has the PSUs below the line cards, while the 7606 
  has the PSUs on the back side).

Much bigger differences between "E" and "non-E" chassis (6509 vs. 6509E,
and so on) - more power capacity, better fabric support on the 6513E, ...
