[c-nsp] 100BASE-T to 100BASE-LX10 and 100BASE-EX media converters and SFP compatibility

Hi,

I have two questions. The answer to the first one may render the
second one obsolete.

1. The 100Mbps SFP compatibility matrix suggests the 100BASE-LX10 and
100BASE-EX SFPs are not compatible with Catalyst 3750 switches. Can
anyone confirm or deny?

2. I need to connect a Cisco 2821 router's FastEthernet interface to a
Catalyst 3750G-12S across a 12km SMOF link. A completely separate 2821
needs to connect to the same 3750 over a 6km SMOF link. I can't use
either of the two onboard GigabitEthernet interfaces.

It looks like the most appropriate optics to use in the 3750 are the
100BASE-LX10 and 100BASE-EX SFPs (GLC-FE-100LX and GLC-FE-100EX
respectively).

Can anyone recommend a vendor for media converters for use on these
links? What do people use to drive 10km+ SMOF links at 100Mbps?

cheers,
Dale
