We were using 7609 w/ SIP-200 and SPA-4XCT3/DS0 cards for terminating large
ammounts of ChDS3 that were all for VoIP T1s...
1344 Serial network interfaces
48 Channelized T3 ports
Turin has the former VLX300/400 products of Seranoa/Whiterock:

We've used those w/ good success too... The VLX400 makes a great 1/0 DACS...
12 DS3->Dot1Q protected in 2U for probably less than the cost of a single
SIP-200 loaded w/ SPA-4XCT3/DS0 cards.. When it was Whiterock I had heard
rumors about them integrating a Layer3 switch into the device instead of the
Layer2 that's currently in there, but that was only a rumor...
