General answer: CEF on certain platforms maintains counters within the
FIB entry which counts the traffic towards this particular prefix. This
doesn't give you the source, just the destination.
CEF accounting also allows you to count traffic towards a prefix other
prefixes recurses to (for example all traffic towards a given BGP
next-hop). This helps to build a traffic matrix.
