Hello list,

We're looking at swapping out our sup32 + 6148-GE for the 4948.
Performance wise it seems that the 4948 is a very clear winner, as the
6148 linecard is oversubscribed 8:1 and can only do 8 Gbit/s total.
We're worried about what features we're loosing when going this route.
Main usage is GE aggregation in a datacenter / ISP environment with
local routing.

Used features include:
- OSPF
- HSRP / VRRP
- CoPP

Current route table is a few hundred entries and we use some routed
ports. Expected usage in the next one/two years include IPv6 and
possibly some BGP sessions for distributing a default to a downstream
neighbor and learning a few prefixes.

From the docs we're loosing the ability to do IPv6 routing, but what
else can we expect? Anybody have any experience in this kind of setup
with the 4948? What kind of performance are we looking at?

Regards
Rutger
