Another option to consider would be the 6148A model.

The 6148A model has 5.3MB of buffer per port whereas the plain 6148 only 
has 128KB.  That might suit his needs too.

I always make a point to use 6748s but that would be a waste of money 
given the Sup Robert has to work with.
