[c-nsp] protecting cisco switches

I continue to be bugged by STP.
I still have this situation melting every now and then:

   [c4948-L]----[c4948-R]
      \                 /
       \               /
        \             /
         [hp3400]

I was wondering why I even run STP on the hp3400... if I turned it
off then each cisco would be hearing the bpdu from the neighboring
cisco, through the hp.   And then it's just cisco vs cisco, and I'm
guessing that has a better chance of working.
