AFAIK, IOS XE was based on the 12.2SR train.
Perhaps Cisco folk on the list can confirm, but I guess
that'd mean it'll be actively maintained, as SR is
currently where Cisco seem to be going for service provider
code, particularly with the 7200 and 7600.
