Yeah, tried that...  empty directory.

ftp> pwd
257 "/cisco/ios/12.3/12.3.9e/6400" is current directory
ftp> ls
200 PORT: Command successful
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for file list
226 Transfer complete.
ftp>

That was the most recent release for the 6400.
