  On a 6509 once you configure *mls qos* all traffic out all interfaces 
will be remarked as Best Effort (CS0) this is by default.  Only traffic 
on interfaces with the *mls qos dscp trust *statement will retain their 
dscp markings.  In other words only traffic coming in or out an 
interface you explicitly tell it to trust will retain its markings.
