[c-nsp] VPN over Comcast

Hello Michael--

No laughs here. When a customer of mine lost its 100 foot tower that was
at the core of its wireless network (as in it fell down), they had to
scramble to bring up remote buildings on their network. We dropped Comcast
Business cable lines and ASA-5505s at each location that was affected and
did not have a backup path. The only problem that we had with Comcast was
them installing the correct service and provisioning static IP addresses.

Once the network was in place and a new, taller and better tower was
erected, the VPN network was kept as a backup for the primary wireless
network.

Once or twice in a six month period a VPN tunnel dropped and did not
revive itself. A reboot of the remote ASA resolved the issue and no reboot
of the cable modem was required. We weren't able to determine if there were
power hiccups or Comcast network issues. That behavior occurred so
infrequently that we thought nothing of it.
