Sorry Gert but WS-X6148-GE-TX by specification just won't permit this. 
mtu config is event not permitted (SXIx).
     (config)#interface gigabitEthernet 4/46
     (config-if)#mtu 1504
     % Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
