Hell, I'd settle for memory protection. I've lost count of the number of 
memory corruption IOS bugs where corruption in (say) the HSRP process 
shows up with a traceback in (say) ARP.

The next obvious step would be to restart the corrupted process using 
the SSO infrastructure.
