Our configuration looks something like this:

snmp-server host asainside 192.0.2.1 poll community SeCrEt version 2c
snmp-server host asainside 192.0.2.2 community AnOtHeRsEcReT version 2c
snmp-server location Somewhere
snmp-server contact "Valid Email <validemail at example.com>"

It's ASA 7.2(4); you software version might make a difference.

My completely random guess is that the SNMP version (v1 or v2c) gives
you problems.
