I would imagine that reloading the router would have accomplished the
same effect as re-issuing the config command, but I have not had a
chance to test it.
IOS does warn that after you submit this command:
system mtu jumbo 9000
that a reload is required for it to take effect, but no such warning is
issued for this command:
system mtu routing 9000
Because of that first requirement, we do reload the box after applying
the config template to it, so I think I can answer "yes" to the
question.
