Well,
The reason I ask is we were seeing this:
SLOT 1:Mar 27 08:00:03 EDT: %FIA-3-LOS: LOS for slot 21 was cleared.
SLOT 1:Mar 27 08:01:21 EDT: %FIA-3-LOS: LOS for slot 21 was detected.
SLOT 1:Mar 27 08:01:25 EDT: %FIA-3-LOS: LOS for slot 21 was cleared.
SLOT 1:Mar 27 08:01:43 EDT: %FIA-3-LOS: LOS for slot 21 was detected.
SLOT 1:Mar 27 08:01:47 EDT: %FIA-3-LOS: LOS for slot 21 was cleared.
SLOT 1:Mar 27 08:02:09 EDT: %FIA-3-LOS: LOS for slot 21 was detected.
SLOT 1:Mar 27 08:02:15 EDT: %FIA-3-LOS: LOS for slot 21 was cleared.
SLOT 1:Mar 27 08:05:24 EDT: %FIA-3-LOS: LOS for slot 21 was detected.
So we shutdown slot 21 temporarily and we haven't seen that message again, so I can only deduce that possibly Slot 21 is bad and hopefully not SLOT 1 =)

we have also seen those coming up from time to time. However,
if those are not increasing, the cause might simply be a CSC
failover, linecard insertion (don't know for sure) or whatever.
2 crc16 errors should not do harm. We saw those constantly increasing
when we had a faulty CSC in a 12008.
