I wholeheartedly agree. The Cisco website continually strives to make
itself less efficient and harder to find the information we require.
Furthermore, is completely unsuitable for remote or emergency tasks,
whereas a command line FTP client is perfect.

Cisco should seek to work with their customers, not against them.
