The 3com acquisition and subsequent partnership with Cisco gave HP tremendous
access to Cisco technology. The 3com gear wasn't great but the procurve line
is definitely mature from a hardware perspective.

I've had very good luck with HP's Procurve switching gear, both in terms
of reliability and performance. Not so much luck with HP's
3com-acquired gear.
