I think you need to separate Brocade's ethernet switches from the Foundry
Networks switches.  No idea about the Brocade designed gear, but the
Foundry kit has worked well for me.  It performs as stated on the box,
although as several other people have noted, it doesn't have as many
features as other vendors (e.g. J, C, etc).

Also, the HP policy for third party transceivers, which is: fuggettaboutit.
