They probably do, but that information may never see the 
light of day.

It might be issues vendors come across as they develop a 
platform/software, or issues they come across when cases are 
logged by customers.

The question is, when they find these issues, will they 
document them? And if so, will they be fully explained so 
anyone buying/using that product/software can easily 
understand what the problems are?

It's hard enough finding the right bugs in the bug tracker. 
It certainly gets more confusing when your bug is referenced 
for a platform/code base that you don't use, but seems very 
similar to what you're seeing.

Like I said, you get better at dealing with limitations with 
time, because sooner or later, you realize that for the 
majority of your engineering career, that's what you're 
doing when you build and maintain interesting networks :-).
