MTU = Maxiumum transmision unit - ie: The maxium size you can transmit via
this connection.
DF = Don't Fragement - ie: do not break this single packet into multiple
packets.
As Gert and the others have written, if you set your interface MTU to 'x',
then don't except that a packet which is marked as "Don't Fragment" is
passed over this interface.
