Quite. Maybe physics isn't even accurate, I don't know for a fact that
there isn't some quantum magic which could guarantee constant time search
for variable length data.
But short of quantum magic, if you'd get router which has same IPv4 and
IPv6 pps, then it's probably just wire-rate on all ports, and in reality
that box could handle twice the amount of ports it has, for IPv4 traffic.
