Hi Adam
I invented the setup and am glad it's a crazy one :)
Well after investigation in the setup , the problem was in the redistribution of BGP routes under the RIP process on R5
When i Used the metric transparent keyword , R7 could not see R8 loopback interface , when I changed to 5 , all worked fine
