In the UK LINX offer vendor neutral courses :-

Linx is the London Internet Exchange, and I have no relationship with Linx, other than I used to work for a member company.
I guess the problem is that good courses are expensive to create and only the vendors have the commitment.

Hi,
It has been my experience that even vendor specific courses are useful.
Our network is mostly HP and Cisco and taking the Cisco courses/certifications has greatly helped our staff. The first-level Cisco
(CCNA) covers all the things that one would need to troubleshoot HP, especially since the syntax is quite similar between the two brands.
Good luck!
