Dear all,
we are looking to modernize our LNS cluster and as of today, Cisco
seems to be offering two solutions for moderately-sized clusters:
* ASR1002-X
* ASR9001-S
Regarding IOS variant, spare parts, long-term future and overall
platform, we are strongly leaning towards the ASR9001-S.
Yet, the feedback within DENOG has not been very favorable for the A9k
platform as LNS. We are wondering what experiences others made,
especially with current IOS XR versions.
Our specific requirements are relatively modest:
* LNS cluster
* IPv4 and IPv6
* Per-connection QoS (VoIP and data go over the same line)
* Multilink
As an aside, we have been unable to find a definite answer as to what
licenses we would need to be able and allowed to run an ASR9001-S as a
LNS.
Thanks a lot,
Richard
