Its correct that GigabitEthernet mandates autoneg, and it is also correct
that "mdix auto" REQUIRES autoneg, but afaik that doesn't mean all your
gigabit/autoneg gear can also automatically do auto-mdix, because that
probably requires different hardware (switching RX/TX).
