Thanks Vinod, but I think you are misunderstanding the bug.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/field-notices/639/fn63944.html
Problem Description
The 1G ports on ASR 920 Routers ASR-920-24SZ-IM and ASR-920-24SZ-M do not
come up with Cisco IOS® Software Release 15.5(1)S (3.14.0).
Cisco recommends that customers upgrade to Cisco IOS Software Release
15.5(1)S1 (3.14.1) or later in order to overcome this issue.

1 - While running 15.5(S)1 I put in a supported transceiver and it still
didn't work
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr920/hardware/installation/gu
ide/ASR920_HIG/Supported_SFPs.html
2 - the bug spoken of at
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/field-notices/639/fn63944.html
doesn't say anything about unsupported xcvr's... this bug is about bad
ASR920 product (show platform to determine) and a bad bug when combined with
IOS XE 15.5(1)S1
3 - http://serialnumbervalidation.com/63944/cgi-bin/index.cgi this shows
that certain ASR920's are affected by this bug.
4 - While running 15.5(S)1 , the hidden command "service
unsupported-transceiver" did not fix the problem. Once I upgraded to
15.5(S)2, gig ports started working

Have a nice weekend

Aaron

Hi Aaron,

That's not a bug. It's an expected behaviour. The SFPs that cisco has not
tested with the platform, we don't claim support for it, and naturally when
you insert it in our platform it will not work. For it to work the command
line "service unsupported-transceiver" was introduced.
