ASR920 provides an evolution of ME3600X and it helps us to have a single OS across our ASR 900 family which includes ASR920 variants, ASR903 RSP2 and future platforms.
ME3600X is not going end of sale but it will be in sustaining mode meaning no active development in terms of new features. We are encouraging customers to move to ASR920 if possible. ASR920 will have all the features which ME3600X support as well as new stuff e.g. Application engineering routing (Segment Routing), mLDP, complete Y1564.
ASR920 does not provide the replacement for ME3800X since the scale of ASR920 is similar to to ME3600X. For ME3800X replacement, the options are ASR902 RSP2 or ASR903 RSP2.

Folks...looking for insight, feedback or thoughts on this. Working with the

versus a fully licensed ME-3600X-24TS-M resulted in the ME3600 being CDN
LIST$ 7,000 per unit more. The only explanation offered was that the ME was
most likely being targeted for EoS. I found that hard to believe since it

The ASR920 is replacing the ME3600X.

If you're greenfielding, buy the ASR920.

Otherwise, you can buy the ME3800X, although I'd imagine it's on its
last legs also.
